New Haven Business Class: Blasting Off to a Great Start
This year, Mrs. Mitovski, a CTE Business Management teacher at New Haven High School, brought fresh opportunities to the district by establishing a DECA chapter. With 12 eager students joining as the founding members, the new DECA chapter is already making waves by combining real-life business applications with academic learning. Mrs. Mitovski's expertise and passion for preparing students for the professional world have laid the foundation for what promises to be an exciting future for the chapter.
In November, the chapter leadership participated in DECA’s State Leadership Conference held at Michigan State University. This event offered students an invaluable experience to interact with business professionals, gain insights into various career pathways, and build essential networking skills. The leadership conference showcased the vast opportunities DECA provides for young professionals, leaving the students motivated to aim higher.
December marked another milestone for the fledgling chapter as all 12 students competed in the DECA District Conference. Their hard work and preparation paid off, with 10 students earning medals for their achievements. This impressive performance highlighted the dedication of both the students and Mrs. Mitovski to making DECA a successful venture for New Haven.
Looking ahead, Mrs. Mitovski and her students are excited to grow their chapter and explore the boundless opportunities DECA offers. By combining academic rigor with practical application, this new addition to New Haven High School’s programs is set to empower students with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in the competitive business world.
