Career & Technical Education Advisory Boards

CTE Program advisory boards are a required component of state-approved CTE programs under the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act of 2018, commonly referred to as Perkins V.

The primary purpose of a program advisory board is to serve as a resource and a connection to the workplace for CTE teachers, administrators, and students.

The CTE program advisory board guides the local education agency (LEA) with planning, development, implementation, operation, promotion, evaluation, and maintenance of the CTE program that result in continuous program improvement.

Two Meetings Per Year

Career and technical education programs are required to hold a minimum of two advisory committee meetings per school year.

Traditional in Macomb County, each school district holds one of their meetings locally within the school district and the second meeting is held in conjunction with the regional meeting.

Upcoming Regional Meeting dates can be found below. If you are interested in serving solely on a local school district advisory board, please explore CTE Programs by District and contact their local districts CTE Director.

2026 Regional CTE Advisory Board Meeting

The Regional CTE Advisory Board Meeting is an event that brings industry and educational partners together with our local career and technical education instructors from around Macomb County to discuss what is being taught in the high school CTE courses.  We truly value the input from our partners and need your support as we continually improve our programs.
